I will be travelling from Ilkley to Bradford next week. Looking on Realtime Trains it looks like these services are a mixture of 331s and 333s.

Is there a way of telling before the day of travel which services are likely to be 331s and which are 333s, or is it just pot luck on the day?

If possible I'll aim for a 333 operated service as I don't believe I've used one before.

I mainly use the Airedale line to Skipton not Wharfdale to Ilkley but they do share rolling stock. I tend to find the busier comuter services will use the (usually doubled) class 331 then the quieter services will use the 333. But it is a mixture and the same services don't consistently use the same trains. If you're not in a huge rush there's usually a good mix over the day so you can just wait for one you'd prefer

Look to see what units work which services the previous day. Those that are 333 should typically be the same again, and similarly for the 331s. However, 6 car 331 formations can often be cut to 3.
