Hate to break it to you, but 1) Gordon Brown is from Kirkcaldy 2) Raith Rovers play in Kirkcaldy 3) The Raith you refer to is nowhere near

The Irish stations were named after Republican 'heroes'. Could you imagine the British doing the same.

London Cromwell perhaps? It would get attacked on a daily basis by the IRA.

We have stations named after famous battles (Waterloo), and most notably of Victoria. But our stations were built with the railways and were named after the places they represented more often than not. I can't see a problem with them the way they are. Most towns only have one station, so the name only suffices. And the termini were named for their location predominantly. It helps find them for a start

And we have the streets of our cities named in honour of our past greats. Many of which have metro/underground/tram stations on them as it is.

I also think we should keep this quiet from the SNP otherwise they'll be renaming Waverley; Edinburgh Salmond!!!!!

Despite what I've said, renaming North Road as 'Darlington Stephenson' would be a nice touch.
