It's just a thought, but I wonder if somehow it would be possible to fit fans just in front of train wheels so that at at least some leaves are blown away from the line rather than trundled over and made into a slippery mess. But since the leaves would blow back again, I imagine you'd have to have them in front of and behind each wheel. There goes that idea from a purely financial viewpoint.

Travelling by train these days all one often sees is a wall of green. And then they wonder why we have a leaf fall problem.
If NR doesn't sort this out, by 2015 will it look like this?
The met line looks like that in 2012!
