ThanksYes, Welsh first in Wales, then the English version. Though a Holyhead to Euson service that calls at Llanfairpwll would be a mouthful in Welsh and English if you used the full name

Don't start, or people will want Paddington to Waterloo via Plymouth without reversing... now work out how many splits & combines that could take along the way!Colne to London would be easier if it could run via Skipton...
The through coaches from Southport to Euston always went via the Canada Dock Branch and Lime Street, but could use the Olive Mount Chord to avoid reversing. The Southport line has an easy connection to the WCML and the users would love a direct service to London like they must have had many years ago.
Kirkby could also have a direct London service, perhaps adding on to a Southport line service.
Stations west of Wigan would have to go through Piccadilly to continue on to London.
Leyland, Euxton, Earlestown and Newton-le-Willows could regain the Preston-Crewe stopper and extend it to London.
Chorley line stations would also have to go through Piccadilly.
Ormskirk, Burscough, Rufford and Croston would have to reverse at Preston which would be an unusual direct service to London.
I would be the first person on an Ince - London Euston direct service!
I must insist on making this journey as soon as possible, as I urgently need to visit Earby on the way back will need time to get from Colne to Skipton!Don't start, or people will want Paddington to Waterloo via Plymouth without reversing... now work out how many splits & combines that could take along the way!
Colne used to have a daily service, 1 coach, no idea which way it went though.Colne to London would be easier if it could run via Skipton...
Certainly not via Skipton!Colne used to have a daily service, 1 coach, no idea which way it went though.
Direct to Liverpool Street is no problem as the only link is to the up main. The two reversals needed for a down service would be far more entertainingEmerson Park would need a direct service to Liverpool Street.
Better still, are there any which are capable of separating on the move? Are there are multiple units capable of having more than six components in a formation?
[12-car sprinter into 6 2-car units, 153s count as two cars in control terms]
Kind of like slip coaches??Better still, are there any which are capable of separating on the move?

Electrification for Inverness just so it can get direct trains from City Thameslink?Sod London, let's give every station a direct Inverness service.
Surely dividing at Skipton would make more sense, as that's where you'd have to attach on the return working (can't permissive work Hellifield platform lines). It would be very easy (in relative terms!) for LNER to extend a service from Leeds to Carlisle/Morecambe - stopping at Kirkstall, Apperley, Shipley, Saltaire, Bingley, Crossflatts, Keighley, Steeton, Cononley, Skipton, Gargrave, Hellifield, Long Preston (where the train divides), then either Settle, Horton, Ribblehead, Dent, Garsdale, Kirkby Stephen, Appleby, Langwathby, Lazonby, Armathwaite and Carlisle (where it could then continue to Stranraer via Kimarnock(!)), or Giggleswick, Clapham, Bentham, Wennington, Carnforth, Bare Lane and Morecambe. Something of a mouthful!
Ah, but you're applying common sense! Can't be having that on the railway.Surely dividing at Skipton would make more sense, as that's where you'd have to attach on the return working (can't permissive work Hellifield platform lines).
One unit would work all stations to Morecambe, the other would skip Gargrave and Long Preston before calling Settle & all the rest to Carlisle. If you wanted a service on the GSW to Stranraer, better to let Avanti cover it with 221s.
Of course, all of this would need gauge clearance for the 80x stock!
