Later today (Wednesday 19th December 2007), the first of Iarnrod Eireann's new Cl. 22000 Intercity Multiple Units will enter service on the Dublin - Sligo route bringing in a new era of rail travel in Ireland.

Let the Revolution begin.....

It's a cross between a Meridian and a Turbostar!

Well our Mk2d fleet is rust buckets on wheels!

I like tothink of them as a cross between a UK Cl. 221 and 180 (But Better!). They have an MTU engine so they sound the same as your Cl. 170's. A very nice DMU sound.

The units inside are well laid out, all bays of 4 line up to windows, only a few airline seats (FGW please take note!!), sockets at each seat. Very low engine noise in the saloon and a fantastic ride quality.

A Revolution indeed!.
