Also if that argument is actually being used I'd want to see the slack time decreased on IC trains and TPE increase their slack time, to result in the TPEs giving way <D

That wouldn't be fair <( You nasty b*****!

Excuse me? I presume that remark was meant as a joke, if not you can expect to be banned.

Not quite sure what you're saying here, or how you meant that. :?

But my point is this: Inter-City trains (e.g. GNER, Virgin) should get priority over local and regional (e.g. Northern, TPE) trains.

A TPE train should be held for a couple of minutes to ensure a GNER gets green signals to pass through Doncaster at maximum speed, rather than the HST being checked and delayed.

As for what's "fair", it can never be fair. But it is not logical to delay say 400 passengers paying £££s on expensive tickets for the benefit of say 100 passengers on cheap tickets for short distances.

But how do you define the importance of a rail passenger. I'm sure if the conductor over the PA told his TPE passengers they were being held because people on another train were more important, they would attempt to do him an injury. Likewise, commuters paying pence or slightly more have more priority than high speed trains in the rush hour.

These people are real idiots, if they got killed the families would probably seek compensation nowadays and what about the driver seeing someone cross the track in front of a train is worrying but what about knocking them down. These people just dont care at all.
