Ideas for a day out in glasgow

Im in Glasgow tommorow (friday) and im planning to do something involving bashing something and going to a decent station for spotting, i have a few plans, which involves either going queen street-anniesland-cambuslang, or i could go to motherwell but I'm not sure what would be the best spotting place, what do you think?

Motherwell is a decent station for spotting, obviously you get the WCML fasts through there as well as the local services. Be aware though that there is some building work going on at the station at the moment so if you're filming, there might be some background noise.
Paisley Gilmour Street is another one I'd say. You get good visibility from the Glasgow end of the platforms.
Pollokshields East on the Cathcart Circle is worth a shot as you can watch the 156s heading to East Kilbride and Kilmarnock passing on the tracks opposite.

If you're on a Roundabout ticket you can visit all of those stations, and you would be entitled to travel on the Subway as well which is worth a go in my opinion.

Just a thought... do the Subway still do guided tours of Broomloan Depot by prior arrangement?

Even if they do, it might be too short notice - but it's worth asking them about it...

You can't do a day of spotting in Glasgow without going to the mighty Hyndland! Its island platform would be perfect, no worries about other trains getting in the way of the one you want and no need to race between platforms. From memory, the eastern end of the platform is best there. Of course, Partick is good too, but I prefer Hyndland personally.

Pollokshields East, definitely a good shout, I'd give it a go for sure. Motherwell, as has been said, was full of building work when I was there in January but you might be fine for noise etc when you're there. North end of p2/3 is my recommendation there.
