Ideal time window for transferring from Eurostar to trains from Euston

I've got a trip from Paris to Liverpool planned for the 29th July (right in the middle of the Paris Olympics) and I wish to arrive at Liverpool before 7pm. How much time should I ideally leave between arriving at St Pancras Int and departing Euston?

Answer there was that 40 minutes is fine. However this was with a CIV ticket.

Official connection time looks like:

1. Connection time at arrival station (https://www.brtimes.com/!board?stn=LNE) 35 minutes
2. Transfer time to Euston 8 minutes (at that time of day)
3. Connection time at Euston (https://www.brtimes.com/!board?stn=EUS) 15 minutes

Add together to get 58 minutes. The reality is that it will take less time than this, but if you have an advance ticket from London to Liverpool it technically requires to be 58 minutes or later after the booked arrival into Saint Pancras if you require it to be honoured on a later departure if the first train runs late.

EDIT But the minimum time may be 38 minutes if the arrival is deemed to be at https://www.brtimes.com/!board?stn=SPX

It looks like you have two choices:

1. 13:12 Paris - London 14:30/15:43 - Liverpool 18:04
2. 14:42 Paris - London 16:00/16:43 - Liverpool 19:04

If you require before 7pm arrival then the first choice is the one for you.
If you don’t mind 4 minutes later then the second should work on the balance of probabilities.

You still have to respect the minimum connection time.

TBH if the time at Liverpool is at all critical, I would take the earlier train - it only needs an issue with e-gates or passport staff to foul things up.

I'd agree - get the earlier train. You never know what might happen on the day.

Saturday just gone... I turn up at Gare du Nord, booked to travel at the quieter lunchtime period, and there's the dreaded message "panne de rame Eurostar ce matin" ( "A Eurostar broke down this morning" ). The upshot of that was a lot of set swapping with at least one 374 substituted for a 373 and two trains getting out roughly an hour later - mine was only slightly delayed, but everyone on board still had to have new seat allocations... and there's always the risk of being asked to take a later train if a fully booked 374 is swapped out for a 373...
