I questioned in the What if the East Lincolnshire Line has Reopened if the line between Grimsby and Louth could reopen as a Light Railway:

Here is my comment:

Have a suggestion, could a Light Rail Line be possible from Louth heading up the old line as far Waltham on mostly original alignments with some diversions on to the street, where the line has been built on then run to Grimsby on new track to Peaks Lane then to Hainton Ave then run through Wintringham Rd then Ainslie Street to Garden Street Before a new terminus could be built on the car park behind P3 at the station. Call it the Grimsby and Louth Light Railway.

It would avoid the need to close Peaks Parkway or Cross the major road, avoids the busy Junction with Frederick Ward Way and provides Interchange with the Main Line station.

The route in detail:

Starting from Grimsby Town which would have 2 new light rail platforms with a footbridge linking to the main line station. It would then connect with Garden Street run down the road as far as Winteringham Road then running along that street to Hainton Ave. It would then run to Weelsby Road Junction before crossing that road to Peaks Lane then on to new LR track to Peaks Lane (in Waltham) running on street to Humberston Ave before joining the former trackbed as far as Tetney Lane before then running round Tetney Lane on to new trackbed to then join the old track bed all the way to Louth Keddington Rd.

The line could run every 10 minutes.

Potential for stops in Grimsby Town, New Waltham, Holton-le-Clay, North Thoresby, Ludborough and Louth.

Potential Extensions beyond Louth.

What do you mean by a "light railway"? Tramway-style? Like Metrolink or Tyne & Wear, or what?
