Heard this morning (Monday 13th) that a diesel passed through Warwick (mid-morning?) yesterday 'pushing' a glass fronted & rear green coach towards Birmingham. The coach had a nameplate 'Caroline' and the engine description sounds like a 37 or similar.
Anyone?

Probably a 37, "Caroline" is an inspection saloon usually hauled (or pushed!) by a 37. I'm sure one of our Midlands members will know the ID of the 37.

"Caroline" started life as a southern region class 202 vehicle, which was first converted into a Southern Region managers' saloon, then into an inspection saloon in 2004/5.
It is usually propelled by DRS' 37423 or 37409, 37423 seems to be the favourite for the duty.

37409 and Caroline worked through Warwick last Wednesday (8th). I am not aware of it working yesterday.

On Wednesday 8th August 37409 'Lord Hinton' and inspection saloon 975025 'Caroline' worked the 2Z01 0926 Ealing Broadway to Ealing Broadway (circular via Birmingham) observation special.

Just out of curiosity, could any of DRS's 47's that have DRS's multiple control system the same fitted to their 37's, operate Caroline as well?

Just as I thought then. I assumed DRS fitted their own multiple system to locos on their long-term books, i.e. locos they're not intending in the long term to get rid of. Btw, something just come to mind. Seeing as DRS supply motive power to NR when needed to operate their test trains, i.e. the 37's, when NR don't have their own loco's available, are DRS's 47's able to operate NR's DBSO's?
