However, as there is a WHSmith on many stations, some sort of link up there would be good, with a selected range of titles on offer. I for one would certainly take an interest in that.
Not... A... Chance... Ever!
I've worked for this company before, and the spesific division that deals with Rail stores, and trust me, there is no chance of any Ian Allan concession or any of his stock even having a sniff of being placed in the stores. 80% of space in a large rail store is sold, and at least 40% of that is dedicated sold metres and corners. No chance of getting anything that the customer might want in there, thanks to the new MD Kate, she's much more intrested in putting in sold and high profit lines that don't sell, but will sell for a short while, and then the company will fall on it's arse because she's already asset stripped the whole company and is now in a process where sales are falling to the point where no-one will want sold space any more, and the stores will have lost their reputation for having goods that are wanted and no-one will shop there any more, as a result it will only stock brand new lines, from new companies that don't know how sold space operates properly, and old 'core lines and titles' that they'd be stupid to get rid of.
Here endeth the rant of a former WHSmith Shift Leader and Sold Space Compliance Leader.
