Or did 1N08 0833 Southampton Central to Brighton really gain 61 minutes on the 3m58ch between Swanwick & Fareham then lose it again in the 39ch between Cosham & Cosham Junction and have another sprint between Havant & Emsworth arriving right time.

I take it the train id must have got scrambled or have Southern got a unit called The Hare & The Tortoise?

Looks like there was some confusion between that train, and the one an hour later. Maybe the later train had the wrong headcode in the system so it overwrote the times for the first train?
