Without it, the other lines would be more busy and physical distancing harder!

Of course, especially with the delay, the Elizabeth line will have high levels of peak standees very very quickly after the core opening on certain sections (Stratford -> Liverpool St and Ealing -> Bond Street in the am being the worst).

It will be busy in terms of frequency but perhaps not as busy in terms of loadings - i.e. crammed in like sardines.

If physical distancing is to continue, I can see Crossrail being a fantastic way of moving people in and out of London without being too close together.

I doubt it. After a few weeks we’ll wonder how we ever managed without it.

I think there's pretty much no chance that Crossrail won't open; it will open. But I'm sorry that other people decided to communicate that to you much more rudely...

Crossrail will most likely open. Whether it's actually going to be as useful as the PR team would have you believe is incredibly doubtful, with or without the epidemic.
