After seeing GhostCav's excellent screenshots I thought I would have a go myself, after a few helpful tips from Mr Cav beforehand!

This shows Brigley viaduct, curving to the right goes to Brigley Tunnel and the junction signal

This is Brigley Junction, stopper passenger trains take the right hand route, while express and freight trains take the line straight ahead, onto semaphore signalling (AB) to the next signalbox.

Not alot there, but i'm chuffed with what i've done and I hope you like it too! any comments?

See it's not that bad to build with RS is it!?

Look's like a good start & your viaduct has come out excellent, mine are always wobbly!
One thing though & I can't really tell from the picture, but the Xover track in your junction layout looks not quite right. When laying a diamond crossing you need to first lay the track over the other line as you have done I believe & then using either click the "Crossover" or "Join" button in the top left pullout menu bar. This will give you a grey square over the Xover (If it doesnt then you sometimes find the rail crossing over the original line may need to be a bit straighter). When you can see the grey box then click on it once, this should give you a perfect Xover with check rails & proper noses (frogs). Sometimes the grey box will remain showing allowing you to make the Xover into a single or double slip. Always check the rails around the area are complete as sometimes the action of making the Xover can make the sim not draw all the rail correctly, if this is the case then you will have to redo the Xover until it is correct. This may sound long winded but if you ever tried to make Xover style junctions in MSTS then you would not moan!

Oh & the reason for doing all this, apart from looking right, is with just laying the rail over the other one the siganlling will not treat it as a Xover & you may well experience a lot of train crashes with it. :roll:

Of course you may have already done this, I just can't tell from the picture, if you have then whoops!

Hi Shane, i've had a go at what you said, I selected the junction track, clicked the crossover tool then clicked the line that crosses the junction line, but it doesn't do anything.

I think you are right as there is no frog on this 'ere junction

I've just been doing some more trackwork & realise I said the wrong button, it's actually the weld button to the left of the one you have highlighted. As I said before though, if the line going over is not at the right angle it wont show the grey box.
