I need to travel in the early evening (prior to 14th December) on the above route (and return). I won't be making any other bus or rail journeys on the same day, and am happy to change at Stevenage if necessary.

What would be the most economic ticket please?

Thanks in advance

Assuming you are returning the same day then an off-peak day return from Huntingdon to Highbury and Islington is £24.70

Valid on any train departing Huntingdon after 0900. On the return you can't use any train timed to depart Kings Cross or Moorgate between 1630 and 1901.

Change at Finsbury Park. You can either take a National Rail train from Finsbury Park to Highbury and Islington or the Victoria Line (you will have to use the Victoria Line on the return as the Moorgate trains finish around 2100). The ticket is valid on this part of the Underground.

Oops. Forgot the 14th is a Sunday.

Sonic2009 is correct if yo are travelling on a Saturday or Sunday then a super off-peak day return will be the best ticket.

On a weekday then a 'normal' off-peak day return will be needed.
