what route does this train take when going through glasgow ? and how does it get to the glasgow-edinburgh line

Usually via Coatbridge. It also doesn't use the Edinburgh-Glasgow line, it goes up to Cumbernauld and Greenhill, then onto Stirling, Alloa and Kincardine.

I don't know the names, but there is an avoiding line after Polmadie that goes from Larkfield (?) Junc, to the left of the WCML then under the Cathcart Circle lines to join the Ayrshire line at Shields. Have a look at the OS map in Bing maps, online.

After it gets onto the WCML, it goes via Carmyle and Coatbridge Central.
