Hunslet Class 323s in Malaysia

I thought people might be interested in these. They're probably (I'm not 100% certain on that) the last trains Ganz - Hunslet produced after they were taken over by Jenbacher.

They're essentially a 323 - as the front end reflects. They even sound like a 323 when they pull away as they use the same Holec three phase drive:

They were the first EMUs that Malaysia bought. They ordered 18 of them (numbered 001-018 and known as Class 81) in 1994. Only a handful are left in service now and they're very likely to go once all the new Chinese SCS sets are delivered and enter traffic. The majority of the class exist only as stripped bodyshells with many of them dumped in the rail yard at Serendah. Spares seem a problem but they have a design weakness in that they're only fitted with narrow, single leaf doors which increase dwell times, so I would imagine that they're living on borrowed time.
