I've been looking at trains and tickets between Kings Cross and Hull. Apart from the choice between Advance and (Super) Off Peak, there's a choice of operators. You can catch the direct Hull Trains services or LNER/Northern services changing at Doncaster. Even "flexible" Off Peak tickets are available as both Hull Trains only and any permitted.

So the question is this. The through Hull trains are relatively infrequent. In the event of one of them being cancelled, what if any are the rights to take an LNER & Northern service to or from Doncaster? Does it make a difference if an (Super) Off Peak ticket is held instead of an Advance one?

In essence, you would be relying on Hull Trains to make alternative arrangements for their customers but they are generally good at proactively doing this in my experience. It is unlikely you would be left to contact HT staff to sort things out for yourself.
