Hull - Stockport 16 Jan help please?

Hi I need to to go to Stockport after work today as I have a really early appointment tomorrow, but I don't finish until 2100. The booking systems are telling me that the last trains I could get all the way to Stockport are at 2045 and 2056.

There is the train to Manchester Piccadilly at 2136 that arrives at 2337, but I would need to use a PlusBus to get me to Stockport. This is fine but the last bus is at 0005, I might even need to get the one 10 minutes before that, not sure if I am allowed to use PusBus after midnight. I am aware that if my train is late - and with the bad weather I am not hopeful - I wouldn't have much chance of assistance at Piccadilly.

Does anybody have any ideas on how I can do this? Thanks...

If you are very lucky and the train from Hull-Manchester arrives into Piccadilly a couple of minutes early, you might make the 2338 rail replacement bus to Stockport from the station front. If not, you should be fine on PlusBus after midnight. It would be valid until the end of service (excluding night buses).

The train is booked into platform 2 (bay platform) which is near the station front, so if you make sure you're at the very front of the train you might be able to make a run to the rail replacement bus, especially if there's a queue to board the bus.

I would not call 0005 'well after midnight'.
