I’ve managed to source some old Hull station workings for SX, SO, and the two Sunday periods, but I am struggling to track down the actual unit diagram information as this is missing (the original versions did have these, together with the driver and guard diagrams, but I'm not too bothered about that being missing). They are dated for the Winter 1997 timetable (September - May with two periods for Sundays).

Does anyone happen to have records, or remember what the diagram numbers were for the Class 142s, 144s, 156s, and 158s working in and out of Hull at this time?

Also, regarding the GNER HST, I know the return journey to Hull was EC001, but can anyone confirm the outbound?

Any help, notes, or memories from '97 would be massively appreciated! I do appreciate this is very niche and also a very long shot that someone has a copy of the unit diagrams for Regional Railways North East from that time which, in my head, is nine years ago!

The only thing I can recall that might be semi-relevant is that the 0918 and 1418 Hull to Manchester Piccadilly were worked by a Heaton diagram on Mondays to Saturdays. The unit arrived from York circa 0845, operated the two services above and their return workings and then departed at 19 something. IIRC it worked a 1945 to Leeds, where it coupled to another unit to work back to Newcastle, but my memory of that is hazy; I worked on the catering trolleys but the last one out that we covered was the 1711 to Piccadilly.
It was usually a 2-car 158 but 3-cars would turn up occasionally or, in times of stress, a 156. The Heaton 156s were the last RRNE units to be fitted with hustle alarms and the lack of them often caught out unwary Hull guards, who thought the lack of noise after pressing the "doors close" button meant the doors had failed!

The rest of the Manchester services were worked by Neville Hill 158s with the odd 156 substitution, or even a 142 a few times. 155s also appeared sometimes, but only on the 0818, 1318 and 18xx from Hull because these were worked by Leeds crews; at the time Hull didn't sign 155s.
As I recall the rest of the Manchester services were worked by Hull crews, in most cases right through but with the odd diagram just to Leeds and a Manchester Piccadilly crew from there to Manchester.

141s appeared occasionally. They usually worked the Sheffield duties which were covered by Sheffield crews, as most Hull staff didn't sign them. Some did and I recall seeing one heading for Bridlington in early 1996, although by 1997 I can only remember them on Sheffield services and then only rarely. They were withdrawn shortly afterwards.
We weren't allowed on them with trolleys because of the large gap between the train and the platform. A couple of my colleagues boarded one when it was their train home (allegedly!), but I never had the pleasure.
Sheffield services were generally Neville Hill 156s, but 142s and 144s often filled in, particularly on the diagram featuring the 0736 from Hull. If my memory is correct the same unit worked the 1048, 1348 and 1648 from Hull.
