There are severe delays to all routes starting / terminating and passing through Nottingham, due to a big section of line being cut off due to signalling difficulties. Trent signal box controls all movements around Nottingham, and has cut off the section from there to Netherfield (incidentally where I live), and there have been no movements past here since about 1800. I can hear a 158 idling down the way at Netherfield signal box, but it has been there for about an hour.
It is thought that it is due to signalling cable theft (again), and according to NR, normal service is expected from 2000 (although I can tell you now, that's complete rubbish).
Anyone got any updates?

Was copper again I believe. For quite a lengthy period of time, trains weren't just 'severely delayed' through the area but the job was completely stopped. It came just a day or two after the entrie NET network was suspended after a tram failed at Wilkinson Street.

Poor Nottingham :p

Today we have cable theft between Market Rasen and Lincoln too

There was also cable theft at Darleston junction and trains were diverted via the Stour line in the Midlands

that's the problem with NET, if a tram breaks down on the main line, you're cheesed as there are no other lines (unless it breaks down at somewhere like Phoenix Park or The Forest, and they can't send out another tram to rescue it as they are not fitted with couplers

Clay Cross is usually where you'll find copper theft, and NR resignalled around there with new fibreoptics a year ago and they've all been ripped up :(
