Return fare is £28.50. I have managed to reduce to £26.70 by splitting at Manchester. Anyone do any better.

Split at Stalybridge (£10.90+£14.70) is £25.60.

Split at Stalybridge & Appley Bridge

£9.60 + £3.60 + £6.90

You could save an extra 60p by splitting at Greenfield instead of Stalybridge but would be restricted to Northern stoppers from Huddersfield then.

Split at Stalybridge (£10.90+£14.70) is £25.60.

That seems to be best. Just be aware that NOT every train from Huddersfield to Manchester stops at Stalybridge. I think the Liverpool ones do but the Manchester Airport ones don't.
