Looking at the latest Northern plans, I get the Saturdays when Huddersfield's closed so there are bustitutions etc. As the holiday weekend isn't mentioned, will there be a normal-ish train service (I'm going to an event in Huddy that day) or can we expect an update later r/e further line closures?

Map of weekend closure plans with bustitutions marked

Thanks!

Sure I read or heard somewhere that the August Bank Holiday weekend is business as usual, can't recall where though.

Please don't call Huddersfield "Huddy" though, nobody does that. If you need to shorten it, "Hudds" is the accepted diminutive! ;)

I may start calling it "Sha-Huddy-Wuddy" in honour of the seventies rock group.

Can we not have something along the lines of nearby places like Casvegas (Castleford), Pontecarlo (Pontefract), Wakopulco (Wakefield) and Feverly Hills (Featherstone)?

Hudderlulu maybe? ;)

Kings Cross is closed over the weekend so presumably Manchester-York is needed for people diverted from LNER.

Would make sense, Avanti being better placed (ha!) to soak up the displaced passengers than the 5 coach trains used on EMR.
