EMT use platform 4, on the down fast line, for trains from London and either 1, 2 or 3 for southbound services.

I don't know which are HST and which are 222s but they leave St Pancras at xx00 (xx37) and xx30 (xx07) during the day. The xx00 is a Nottingham train which I would imagine is a 222, the xx30 is for Derby, so could be either.

South bound services are xx34 from Derby (xx51) and xx07 from Nottingham (xx20).

All Above services (XX:30 STP > NOT and XX:07 NOT > STP) and the derby's are all booked meridian and are rarely viced. There could be HST's in the peak that stop

Well there's the 08:16 Leeds - St. Pancras which calls at Bedford at 11:12. The next southbound one is the 15:27 Sheffield - St. Pancras. Bedford at 17:12. The third one being the 19:27 Sheffield - St. Pancras. Bedford at 21:11. Northbound, there's the 08:25 St. Pancras - Sheffield. Bedford at 09:00. Then there's the 14:25 St. Pancras - Sheffield which is at Bedford for 15:00. Then there's two more during the peak and a last one (22:25 STP - SHF).

HSTs don't stop at Luton Airport Parkway (atleast they didn't when I was down that way) cos the platforms are for 8 coaches only currently and there are no dispatch staff, they do/did stop at Luton though.

They still don't call at LTN, but they can once the platform extensions are completed later this year - whether they will do so this year depends on the December 2008 timetable. I'm aware that all East Midlands Mainline services require guards but are you saying that platform staff are required to dispatch HSTs as well (whereas Meridians don't)?

I was at bedford on tuesday for about 20 minutes seen about 2 HST's stop there so I don't think it's any different to other station's on the MMl.

I don't know of a requirement, but, generally the station staff help to make sure the doors on HSTs are fully closed, being as long as they are. Meridians have automatic plug doors.

The Nottingham Meridians are a mixed bag at the moment - there appears to be at least one vice diagram a day at the moment with a HST because of their chopping and changing the 222 fleet - I've had a HST on the 2200 to Nottingham fairly recently, for example, which is booked all stations with a 222.
