Wait for this one - according to CrossCountry's JourneyCheck basically, the 16:25 Penzance to Leeds service was formed of a 7-coach HST. Both toilet and disabled toilet facilities were not available and they were making an attempt to repair or replace the train as soon as they possibly can.

No excuse at all - there's approximately 7 toilets on a XC HST so that suggests some haven't been working for say a few days! Unless it's a miss print.

Some may be faulty (especially disabled toilets with electric doors that just never seem very reliable) but I'd also guess that some have simply ran out of water.

That set does York - Penzance (8 hours) and then Penzance - Leeds (7 and a half hours) and today had just 24 minutes in Penzance due to late running. I can only guess that there was insufficient time or unable to tank to refill the water tanks.

Right, thanks :)! That would be better and still have toilets you can flush. It's if all the toilet doors had to be closed that would have been a huge problem on a nearly 8 hour journey, especially on a Saturday night.

If there's no water, then you can't wash your hands or flush the toilets; unfortunately dry toilets get pretty rank pretty quickly.

Unfortunately XC seem to have taken out of use a few loos, meaning less than the two per carriage.

I don't think this has ever happened on GWR AFAIK, but there are quite a few sets with a disabled loo missing.
I'm quite surprised this has happened, given the large amount of toilets on a HST.

Technically they aren't. That is the problem!
well,in quite a lot of airports they are now trialling/using waterless urinals

surely there must be some boffin who can come up with a "reprocessing" clean, disinfect and flush mechanism with the recycled pee.
