It would need a second PC as I don't think it's allowed to go at 125 light engine, with coaches it'll need the extra push (or pull) from another PC.

I think the problem is brake force - a light engine, though could hit much higher speeds I don't believe would be able to stop in the required distance.

The ETS wouldn't be a problem as you wouldn't use it, just feed the coaches off the other PC, you only use one for ETS anyway.

Do they not use the same jumper to communicate between PCs?

Three-way jumper for the train supply, 36-way jumper for the power car communications; they're separate.

Just watched the video in the first post, and all I could say for a few minutes was "Wow!" :D

It's been absolutely ages since I last saw an HST with a Valenta in it (30th January 2010), and I couldn't stop myself having a fair bit of a flail with the volume on maximum! I'd forgotten how much I missed that sound, but just hearing it again today brought back plenty of memories :D

Fantastic news for 125 Group that things have got this far, only a matter of time before we see and hear an HST making a proper noise once again on the Western! :D<D
