Spotted with Alleleys London bound near Swindon today. FGW blue, don't know more, does anyone have any info?

I saw this today as well, heading clockwise on the M25 between the M4 and M40 junctions. I think it was 024 (possibly 023?) but don't have any more information

It’ll depend on a number of factor, based on whether the locomotive can move itself, whether it would need to be hauled on rail, whether it is physically sound to be moved at speed by rail. Why do you believe that train operators would chose the more expensive option in any given scenario.

Did those who saw 43023 happen to notice if it still had its 'Sqn Ldr Harold Starr One Of The Few' nameplates on please? Very large and painted light blue so quite distinctive.

The plates have been removed. It’s currently sat against 43313 at Ely.
