Good Morning all,

I recently found and bought a travel agents mode of an HST (power car and part of a 1st class coach) in a vintage market. It is about 1.25m long ( roughly 1:24 scale) and a composite construction of wood/plastic/fibreglass as it's not too heavy.

I've done some research and read about the company that made them (Space Models) who have an interesting history of film/television set pieces (2001 / James Bond etc.) as well as multiple advertising models.

This model has holes in the top for posts to be fitted, I think these would have held an advertising poster/board with the model located on the floor?

Does anyone have a picture of one of these in use?

Best regards,

Chris

ps I believe they also did an APT in the same style.

I can't answer your query as far as having a picture of one is concerned, but you've triggered a memory. I'm fairly sure that one of my local travel agents had one in their window; unfortunately I can't remember which one it was!

Either way, it's a rather good find and would probably look quite good on a mantlepiece. Oh, wait... ;)

I did demonstrate how good it looked on the living room mantelpiece, however this was not an option apparently. It does look good on a bookcase though.
