HST at Lincoln

Saw a Nat Express HST working south from Gainsborough to Lincoln yesterday (friday 28th August 2009) afternoon that would have reached Lincoln about 1335. Anyone know what this was all about? Also anyone know which power cars were involved?

I beleve this is a service NXEC were awarded, I did about something like this I think it said Lincoln was going to become part of there franchise in 2009

Wasn't that new service supposed to be Kings Cross to Lincoln via Newark though? Gainsborough is north of Lincoln and a service from London to Lincoln via Gainsborough would take ages.

Could possibly be for driver training/refreshing as Doncaster to Peterborough via Lincoln is one diversionary route NXEC use.

It was probably a service on diversion - there was a broken down freight train in the Retford area making all southbound services about 60-90 minutes late.

I think the 12:40 Lds-KX terminated at Doncaster.
13:05 LDS-KX was 35 minutes late on arrival at SVG - It used the northbound platforms at doncaster & was queing in that area (My Dad was on this train)
the NXEC site was showing delays to various other services.
