What?

A Disastro

A Voyager

A Class 333

Anything else?

What would you do to make them better - more customer friendly (and from my point of view - better for staff).

I'll start off with a Disastro - since it's what I know most about

Seating - the biggest bugbear. So uncomfortable but supposedly ergonomic. This is a driver's seat -

So if passenger seats are ergonomic - why are our seats far more comfortable?
I say time and again - fit 159/TP158 style seats - so comfortable

Air Con All these years and they still can't get air con to work properly. Still blows too cold and too noisily.

Braking I'd switch off the Dynamic brake - too rough.

Reminds me of work experience! We had numourous rear cab rides in Dessies to get from place to place and me and the other student always used to see who could get into the driver's seat first as it's of course more comfy than the offside fold-down. We were prepared to allow the guard who accompanied us to stand ;)

first i would move the drivers seat forward so you can open/ close doors from that side as it is imposible if you are heavier than 2 stone also no where to put your feet up so is uncomftable, dont get me started on the air con, a lot of the driver's prefer just the normal brake and not the dynamic rubish, and my personal pet hate the illuminated tail light button (any more brighter and they will see us from space).

Voyagers - bigger overhead luggage racks, better window<>seat alignment, more seats and the armrest on the window side to go up!

365s could do with a gaint neon sign next to the large luggage racks by the corridor connections. Nobody ever seems to use them, and they just dump their massive suitcases or folding bikes next to the doors, or increasingly in the aisles. They could also do with proper air conditioning and welded shut windows to avoid someone deciding to open the windows in winter.

319s should be fitted with devices to prevent large suitcases being taken on during peak hours, or possibly at all. The doors are already pretty efficient at this, but not quite enough. There could perhaps be one carriage reserved for people going to gatwick with large amounts of luggage space.

Southern 170s and 377s could do with the next station announcement being delayed until most a couple of minutes before arrival. Being told what the next station is half an hour in advance only serves to confuse people unfamiliar with the route.

Personally I'd go with either 'total redesign' or 'total destruction' when it comes to the Voyagers ;)

There are so many flaws - poor seating, poor legroom, poor ventilation, poor reliability, poor design in terms of 'shop' position...and the list goes on!

My only problem with the 185s, the the Air Con, its set too low, you are nice and cool in the summer, but cold in the winter, other than that I cant see any problems.

On the subject of Desiros, the 185s seem to have much quieter aircon than the 350s, which makes a very loud whoosing noise. Can never hear the 185 aircon (yes I know they're diesel, but still - you can't hear it), anyone know why?
