How to organise trainspotting notebook?

Sorry if this is the wrong place.

I recently got a notebook for trainspotting. I have a small database of trains I’ve seen on my computer. How should I organise my notebook?

Date and location, then whatever the numbers are below, draw a line then ready for the next session though it all depends on what you want to do. Its been some years since i spotted though, computers had barely been invented then!

Just jot down what locos or units you saw, up to you if you want to add date, location, time, service worked etc.

Exactly. I personally if I were spotting again just use Microsoft Word. In the old days I would just use a paper notebook and write the date, number and location down.

I use the notes app on my iPhone. Start with the date; station locations have their three-letter code, other locations have the name, such as junctions or depots. If it’s a loco, I’ll put what service I see it on, with the real headcode if I can. A large example from September is below, although I don’t tend go to stations to spot as such, I just write stuff down from my travels (for users of screen readers, the below photo shows all the locos/units I’ve seen on 07/09/21 on my travels):
