Hi guys, total newbie here just found this site this morning and would like to say hi.
I'm really really interested in joining the railway business (I always have been since i was young, however I have recently turned 30 and although I love my current job and the business I have been in for the past 12 years I'm now looking for a fresh challenge and feel personally that the time is right to try and get into the rail industry, preferably in a driving capacity however would be interested in many different positions that were available to me) and I'm just looking for some more information about how to join.
I'm from just outside Glasgow and so far I've bookmarked some pages from TOC's in Scotland and have been checking them everyday for job opportunites as i was told that sending a letter and CV to train companies is not the way to do it so what else can I do to improve my chances. I would be interested in both passenger and freight side of things.
All information and opinions gratefully accepted.
Stewart
