and the three FOB vehicles sent to GW for the Sleeper used to have IC75s also (not sure whether they have been changed?).

Pretty sure they're IC70s now as they certainly have the same cushion and arm rest design as a normal IC70.

OK - further clarification - as I stated before, original seats in all Mark IIIs loco-hauled and HST - both 1st and 2nd class, were designated InterCity70.

The IC80 was a first class only seat introduced for the Pullmans built later in 1985 and designated Mark IIIB.

The IC75 was an unofficial name applied to the IC80 once revamped for Virgin.

Personally I thought it was pretty clear - but apparently not!

Yep. T'was pretty clear.
Interesting. The IC70s and 75s (1st class) are lovely. No other train has lived up to them since in my opinion. The Mallards are close, but dont quite exude the same feel. Everything else just pales into insignificance.

Cambridge line mark 2s used prior to electrification and then transferred to the line out of Paddington also had standard class IC80 seats trimmed in Blue Blaze moquette. I think the frames were taken from the APT.
I forgot about those. I think a few BSOs were also refurbished with those seats. I can't recall how many coaches were so treated, but I think it would be more than the APT sets could account for.

I also think that the three Mk 3B BFOs that FGW took on for use on the Sleeper services had their IC80 seats (or IC75 with Virgin seat squabs ;)) replaced with IC70 seats recovered from some FGW Mk3 HST sets as they were refurbished, so they actually have seats fitted that are essentially ten years older in basic design than the coach!
