I'm perfectly fine with the service they provide me. But meh, my opinion doesn't count as we MUST knock FGW on everything they do.

Are you? You are happy with the Paginton HST being started/turned at Newton Abbot, quite a few Exmouths being turned at Topsham, summer Sat services being formed of 2 cars

Not effected me and the HST was beyond FGWs control.
1.So you are speaking for your expierences, as opposed to line itself, have a go on a unit somewhen, on BH Monday, about 1050 from Exeter!
2.Not really, so what you are saying is if it is 30 late, you terminate it at Newton Abbot!

That's as maybe. I know many more people who are less than satisfied with the service provided by FGW. And if we take First Group on the whole, well, the less said the better...
I don't believe that was said by me or anybody else in this thread or elsewhere, and as you're not exactly immune to the odd bit of FGW/general TOC bashing yourself, I suggest you shush

First Group as a whole. Erm ....
They have made a pretty damned good job of TPE and Scotrail, plus Hull Trains are not too shabby either.

Seems strange that we still have the mentality to be-little the entire First Group for its downfalls with one franchise.
Agreed performance is not to the levels of the rest of the franchises but give them chance to sort things out
Discussing the local situation in Devon, is fair if your there and use the service and have suffered. Even in the golden oldie days a service would be cancelled for late running to get back on diagram, thats when the word Control meant exactly that. The railway has lost too many of its staff that know how to do the job.

Bearing in mind that TPE is a co-operative with Keolis, likewise with HT and Renaissance.

Because the job that First do with FCC is appalling? New peak time fare structures are not very handy for those north of the capital....
Yes but the refurbishments that are taking place are fab! Especially when the 319 motors are being done, maybe this is why the price structure has changed. Also timing is something FCC Thameslink CAN'T help.

No - they're not saints. At least they didn't apply evening peak restrictions though!
Not any more, although off peak & peak it still represts me better value to go via Salisbury on SWT than Bath/Westbury on FGW
