Journey made by a friend recently...

Chorley -> Lancaster (Off Peak Day Return - £9.80 paid, with Railcard discount).

Lakes Day Ranger - £18.80 paid, again with Railcard discount.

First part of journey, from Chorley to Preston was with Northern (and ran on time) but the second part, with Avanti (no itinerary - but valid connection as met the 8 minute minimum connection time) from Preston to Penrith, arrived Penrith some 32-33 minutes late, due to the changeover Avanti driver being late departing due to a late arrival and having had to take a short rest break!

So, how much 'Delay Repay' should correctly be due, in total, when one of the tickets was a Day Ranger?

Generally speaking Travelcards, Rangers and the likes are treated as return tickets, so I would expect ((£9.80 + £18.80) / 2) /2 = £7.15.

Though almost certainly you'll end up having to appeal to get a human to look at it.

Thanks @Bletchleyite. Payment just received was for £5.93. No idea exactly how that was calculated!

Wonder whether the cost of an Off Peak Day Return fare for Lancaster to Penrith has been used instead of the cost of the Lakes Day Ranger, so = £13.65 with Railcard discount.

So (£9.80 + £13.65) x 25% = £5.86?

Payment received for £5.93, as above, so maybe £0.07 up on the deal?!
