forcing 3 mods to lock the thread ;)

Get it right ....

1 Mod to pick up the keys to lock the thread, the other mods start an argument that they are the wrong keys. 1 admin to step in and say those keys are obsolete, thus causing the first mod to throw the keys on the ground in a huff and storm out.

The second admin then starts saying the keys may be obsolete, but they are the right keys and that the first mod was correct.

The third admin then comes in, locks the topic (with those keys), then tries to persuade the first mod to come back, which he does.

2 mods resign in protest that the first mod has come back, and a huge slanging match starts in the staff forums...

The first mod who resigned in protest, then comes back and re-opens the topic, causing the wjole thing to start again....

Not forgetting somebody else to start a new thread arguing about the original thread being locked... ;)

What about a poll set up to debate whether it was right to lock the
thread...

That's a brilliant Idea VXCFan, but i'm not surprised it came from you, as you like VXC and Voyagers.

*Carrying on from quote by VXCFan*

And then another Mod to intervene with the poll, and alter the wording/delete it altogether, as it may be considered offensive to a mod. (Offensive in the sense it's against the "allmighty mods")

The poll then gets deleted, and then creates a total boycot of Rail UK.

This then causes all the mods to go around MSN, in order to try and get members to forgive them for the terrible mistake they made :p

And one forum lurker to bump the thread two and a half years later only to start the whole thing again.

Cue:
  • Four members to agree with Mojo, stating that the previous lightbulb thread would've been a better place for this topic,
  • Six members to disagree with Mojo and the other four members, saying that the previous thread is old and should be allowed to sit there awaiting archival,
  • Five members to neither agree nor disagree with Mojo's suggestion, choosing insted to cut and paste their messages into both threads to ensure that nobody misses them,
  • Three moderators to reach for the topic locking keys, arguing throughout about which type and design of key they ought to be using to lock said topic,

    ... And, of course ...
    .
  • One insane speed-freak of a member to not give a monkeys about which thread keeps going in the end...As long as he's still allowed to froth on about his designs for impossibly insane and über-fast light bulbs capable of illuminating the space between London and Inverness in less than thirty minutes...:razz:<D
I must admit though that I really like these light bulb threads...They provide some most enlightening discussion, and they certainly bring me a lot of fufilament! 8)
