I'm doing a cruise in July, and one of the ports is Dublin. Realistically, how long would it take to cover the whole Dublin tram system, with a bit of leeway?
It depends what you mean by covering the whole system? Do you mean simply riding each line from end to end? So just ticking off the lines? Or actually alighting and at each and every stop and ticking off each stop before waiting for the next tram?I'm doing a cruise in July, and one of the ports is Dublin. I just want to simply cover the lines from end to end, so just ticking off the lines. Probably have a lunchbreak somewhere. It depends what you mean by covering the whole system? Don't be late back to your ship !Thank you all for your replies. I should have ample time to cover the tram system. Cruise ships usually dock for about 8 hours.
There is also the short spur from Busaras to Connolly Station.Red Line:
The Point - Saggart - Allow 1 hour
Saggart-Tallaght (change at Belgard) - Allow 30 mins
Connecting bus across south Dublin
S8 bus from Tallaght to Sandyford (towards Dún Laoghaire) - Allow 1 hour
Using the S8 avoids retracing your steps back to the city centre.
Green Line:
Sandyford - Brides Glen - Allow 30 mins
Brides Glen - Broombridge (change at Sandyford if tram terminates at Parnell) - Allow 1 hour 30 mins
Broombridge - Marlborough - Allow 30 mins
I’m factoring in waiting time in the times above
So allow 5-6 hours with a break possibly at Milltown LUAS (The Dropping Well pub is close by (5 mins walk) and is good for food).
