I don’t want to miss it, the Networkers are my favourite trains.

Do they sell any “merch” on these farewell rail tours? It seems people got a few Knick-knacks from the Metro Marauder one.

Somehow can't imagine it'll happen yet as they haven't got replacements for them, but I'll be another one on board when it does

It would be an interesting one to go on, having been on the EPB farewell railtour back in 1995.

Whilst the Networker fleets as a whole doesn't have replacements on order, previous suggestions have been that the 465/9 demise will be sooner.

Another year for SWR to finish phasing in the Aventras , another year for SE to phase in the the remaining city beams they are supposed to get

There are only two city beams to come which isn't enough to see off the 465/9s, hence the rumoured move of 377s from Southern displaced by their share of the 387s.

Which would still require an additional new fleet to replace the majority of the remaining Networkers.

Surely bookings aren't going to open until
a) the units are actually planned to be withdrawn
b) a tour is actually announced?

There's no guarantee there will even be an official tour.

It'll be many years until the last Networker goes.

There's around 100 units left. Not even a confirmed order to replace them all.

Any cascade beforehand would remove a small percentage.

Given need to confirm any future order and then build and introduce we could be talking five years minimum. If no replacement order confirmed post election we could be talking 10 years.
