i know it just takes as long as it takes but from experience how long have people waited for the results of the online tests to hearing if they have made the sift for interviews. I’ve applied for conductor at Newcastle with northern

It depends on where you cut the string. All TOCs are different. Some move slow and others move slower. I think it tends to be the norm to have a minimum 12 month wait unfortunately.

Depends how much you want the job. If you really want the role then it’ll be worth the wait.

Exactly... I practiced my tests and applied loads of times over nearly two years before I got the Trainee Train Driver job. Just got to want it enough.

It is certainly a waiting game (and waiting is the worst part of it all).

For me I applied for a conductor role in November 2017 and finally started in August 2018. Each stage took around a month on average... the patience is certainly worth it in the long run!

Just under 5 months for me with XC, Applied in late August 2018, interview mid December, got job offer confirmed on 16th Jan :)

You'll also find some companies are on the ball and know certain members of staff are retiring.
Thus the process can seem longer because there is no rush.
