How long do TOC assessments hold good for?

Hi folks. My son completed, and passed, dispatcher assesements with ScotRail back in February 2020. The jobs then went to hospitality staff who’d been laid off due to covid. So that was that. Now that they’re advertising again though, will he have to resit the assessments?

I could’ve sworn they held good for three years, a colleague at Virgin suggested they may hold good for five years…yet someone else I’ve spoken to said it’s two years. So, clear as mud

Anyone have a definitive answer? I’ve looked online at the Scotrail site but cannot find any references to this.

Hello mate. The length of time that assessment scores are seen as valid for varies depending on the company in question and also the role. Best bet is to drop an email to receruitment@scotrail.co.uk, mention the names of the assessments taken and ask how long they are seen as valid for at Scotrail

Driver assesments are the same across all companies

Dispatch, ticket office, and other assesments are not standardised and don't have any set time they are valid for, unfortunately
