How is Leeds getting on with the Headrow closure?

Not had chance to be in Leeds since the Headrow closure last weekend. How does it all seem to be holding up?

It's a bit of a pain to cross the Headrow on foot. Have to head for the traffic lights.

Previously had to hop over to the central island and over again.

I'm not keen.

A lot of people don't seem to know where certain stops are for their bus and I'm not talking about the temporary stops either on Merrion Street (or the road before hand that's between the Town Hall and Merrion Street goes past Leeds Cathedral), what I'm talking about is the existing stops that are currently in use.

Where one service served it the week before has been moved to elsewhere, the servere lack of detailed information is somewhat irritating - certain services have been missed off the list such as the 42. Someone (not me) had even scribbled "where is the 42" on one fo the posters which used an extract of the Visit Leeds map rather than either West Yorkshire Combined Authorty's own or even First West Yorkshire's mapping, the latters is very detailed and informative and that's what people want.

One bloke said to me that we're looking at roughly eighteen months with the Headrow shut so that both sides can be done.

I haven’t had much experience last week. It hasn’t been too bad. However, if everywhere is like my place of work, everyone who hasn’t holidayed in August has just disappeared on holiday. See how it picks up as those people come back to work and the universities start.

Some bus routes now have a lot of time in Leeds because they have been shortened.

The only issue I’m noticing is drivers unsure which shops they are to serve on the City Loop temp stops.
Friends have mentioned it’s a little chaotic at rush hour.
It’s very tight now and buses can’t overtake a bus at a stop on the headrow which is frustrating at rush hour

I read that as Heathrow closure ! Something to do with the BA pilots strike ?!

When they first tarted up the Headrow, they put bushes down the middle. The Yorkshire Evening Post called it the Headgerow. Must have been in the 1970's.
