If you want fun go Depot Driving. You really get to "play trains". Moving demics around, operating isolating cocks, using units to rescue other units, moving half-units, ground shunting, Fuelling... plus the BBQ's in Summer, bonfires on bonfire night. Working outdoors in the snow in winter is great, as is working outdoors in summer. Constantly getting on and off different units all the time. Different people to talk to, from other DD's, Fitters, DP's, Cleaners, OTL's. Constantly listening to the hand held radio and the great jokes you often hear on it can literally get you laughing out loud. Getting on units and not having any public onboard. The actual Driving is too short distance to ever get boring or uncomfortable. It's certainly more fun than 99% of jobs.
