How Do Voyagers Depart Like This?

Vulgars depart on a wing & a prayer, if they move then you are lucky. Dont worry about the noises, sometimes you can hear a clunk noise, this is parts falling off. Brake hold buttons are fitted to all stock that has the stupid single power/brake controller. It sucks & makes driving harder, but looks good in a design way.

Diesel engines also speed up when the air compressors kick in.
It could be any number of things that makes the Engine Management system send a speed up signal to the engines.

Not very constructive is it.

Perhaps he should get a job on the railway and see if he can do any better.

yes this was a post I put on here once asking this, but had no video to explain what I was on about.

Though I notice sometimes the revvs go slightly higher before departure, other times ive seen it on the normal idle revs and not revv up before departure, but only when it was moving, so it must be the reverser...

67s I think seem to revv higher when sitting at a Station, on 31st May I saw 019 idling away like yingyingyingying then the guy when in the cab, done something then went to yingyingying yingyinggg.........(the the more normal)..ying-ying-ying-ying

When the driver enters the cab of a 67 he will put the reverser key in and make his brake this in turn uses air from the main res system and the engine will rev until the main res is back to the operating norm this will also occur when releasing the train brake from full service, I doubt if the driver would put on the HEP (ETH) and then switch it off again there is no reason to do this. The engines will also rev if there is an electrical load until the electrical demand returns to normal. Once the HEP is switched on the engine will rev at about the same equivelent as notch 3 on the power controller hence sometimes when a 67 with HEP on pulls away there is not an increase in engine revs until notch 4 is selected. As for the voyagers it is either the reverser or possibly the same as the 67's when the doors close brake release occurs and if the driver is in brake step 1 the demand for air is from about 5bar to 1 bar
