How do I view outside of the train?

I'm blown away with the quality of BVE for a free trainsim, but is there any other way to view outside of the tube and maybe watch from platforms & track instead of being stuck inside the cab?

that's the beauty of it. train drivers can't view outside of the train, hence the reason I like it vey much also (having said that I messed my version up cos I messed with the objects too much!

I was just tube mad as a child and spent most of my time on the platform haha
