And of course the occasional PM! That saved many extended family members a lot of money! Keep em coming!
I must add I've been very grateful of PMs. I don't get a chance to spend hours pouring over the routing guide, although I enjoyed the workshop I attended on the subject last year. I'm sure I could save even more if I did pour over the routing guide. However I do save here and there through splitting tickets and the PMs to my occasional questions on travel.

Friends and colleagues now ask me about train journeys and tickets. I always promote this site to them when helping as best I can, as I'm no expert.

I recall Grimsby (and probably fares on that line) to Nottingham were very cheap and undercut the Donny fare, but that's been closed down no as the route changed to 'via Lincoln'. One of the forum moderators in particular used to like those tickets back in the day.

The good value fare is still there. The route still permitted and it certainly is not one to/from Grimsby. :p

That moderator is not me in case anyone is wondering, but I certainly made use of it a few times.

Let's remember to archive the same discussion when it crops up in 2034...

How did the forum get going in the first place - was it a breakaway from an existing website or was it created all by itself?

Also how did it keep going with other forums existing in the same area, as I've been on other forums which have died a quiet death due to lack of interest.

A mummy and daddy forum, who loved each other very much, got together and made a baby forum............... ;)
