How could usage at Corby be improved?

Better car parking and Corby acting as the Railhead for Stamford could do the trick; as well as improved local bus services to bring people to the station from the wider town and villages.

With frequency will come a natural increase in passenger traffic; and people have mentioned a form of service from Corby to Leicester. As the crow flies, it appears it would be quicker to have a ‘fast’ bus from the town to Market Harborough and thence people can go into Leicester. The only logical application would be a future East West route, perhaps, from Bletchley (etc) to Bedford, Wellingborough, Corby and over the top to Leicester.

Why does Corby need to be the railhead for Stamford when Peterborough is already used and has been used for many years as the railhead for Stamford.

Peterborough has far more London services then Corby could ever hope for with direct services being provided by Great Northern, Thameslink and LNER which is far more choice then 2tph with East Midlands Railway will provide.

Plus although Stamford only has a hourly service to Peterborough provided by Cross Country, the TOC could extend their Leicester terminators to Peterborough if they wanted to, not forgetting it's only 10 mins between Stamford and Peterborough by rail so plenty of Stamford residents do drive to Peterborough to commute to London.

Plus there is no need for new infrastructure to be built at Manton to allow Corby to Stamford services so that saves cost.

End of day, Corby will never act as a railhead for Stamford when Peterborough offers far far more.

They're better than 220/1s, but still poor, barely enough room in the overhead racks for bags, and a very poor seating capacity.
But compared to a 180, there's no competition (very well designed, just very poorly built)

I've used the 222s plenty of times and there's more then enough room in the overhead racks unless you're taking the kitchen sink with you on your travels?
