How common are Class 158s at Aviemore?

Just wondering. I know they tend to pop up in a 5-car formation with a 170, but do they ever show up alone?

I think you get them in pairs sometimes, but I'm not aware of single ones passing through.

You may get a some of the early morning ones on thier own for the commutor runs. The 1335ex Edinburgh - Inverness is now book for 2x 158's rather than a 170+158 combo. The inward working also is.

07:57 Aviemore - Inverness
Normally this forms the 09:00 to Kyle
However this often changes as a "spare" Class 158 sits just in case
If the Aviemore is late then it swaps to the next Aberdeen

There are plans to introduce a later Aviemore service from next year
This forms a completely new timetable frequency
