Im sure there is a Thistle hotel that you can see on the right hand side as you go into Euston.

The Thistle may let you have a fairly limited view, but the Ibis has a view of Euston's finest concrete walls.

Travelodge London Southwark is pretty good - you've got the Thameslink lines just south of Blackfriars crossing the Charing Cross - London Bridge lines. Incredibly busy - as long as you get a room on that side of the hotel!

There's a rude joke in there about going to bed with horn and flange, but I'm going to rise above it and merely hint.

I managed to sleep there just fine, although I admit I'm a fairly heavy sleeper...

The hotel next to Charing Cross (sorry, can't remember which) I seem to recall has windows overlooking the concoure (although it may just be from the restaurant or such)
I remember staying there and having breakfast and trying to work out why there were departure boards outside the window!

I stayed at Travelodge Aldgate East last year. I had a view of c2c trains to and from Fenchurch Street station, and think I caught a glimpse of Docklands Light Rail trains too.

The Hilton Canary Wharf (the newer one located outside of the old South Quay station) has great views of the DLR

The Danubius At Swiss Cottage , overlooks Lords Cricket Ground on on side and on the entrance side in Lodge Road you pull up a ramp the a higher level with underground car park, on that side and passing under the hotel is the line out of Marylebone Staion and the underground trains run next to the N.R. lines
Have stayed here back in Hilton hotel days and seen steam specials leaving Marylebone station on a Sunday morning, also able to see tube trains passing.

Not london but the jurys inn in Glasgow has a good view of the station approach and platforms - the best view is of the low numbered platforms

The Novotel in Greenwich has views from the rear facing rooms over the National Rail and DLR tracks at Greenwich station.

The Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf has a decent view of the DLR and the old docks if you're on that side of the building (unfortunately I ended up in a room at the front, overlooking the street. The view from the bar was good though).
There's also the hotel at the front of St Pancras, which looks like it has views of the concourse.

Anyone who's been in the Services can use the Union Jack Club @ Waterloo, very good view of Waterloo East station and line from the north side.

Wandering off from London I'm afraid but get the right rooms at Leeds Central Travelodge and you'll be looking at the eastern throat of Leeds station.

Ibis London Wembley overlooks the Chiltern Mainline.

Room on the upper floors and binoculars and you can also see the WCML through Stonebridge Park.

Travelodge at Kings Cross is a right dump!

Premier Inn Brentwood is nice and has an excellent view of Liverpool Street to Anglia Main line. Ask for top floor room.
