Hotels in Derby

I'm spending a night in Derby soon and planning to stay near the station. I note there's a Holiday Inn on one side of the station and The Smart Aston Court on the other side. The Aston Court looks like a really nice hotel and isn't that much more expensive than the Holiday Inn.

Anyone stayed at either of these? Any good? Should I be looking at other places? Would like to be within walking distance of the train and have parking.

I've stayed in the Aston Court a couple of times. Much better than holiday inn if the price is not much more.

I've not stayed in either hotel but if you want a pub I'd certainly recommend the nearby Brunswick Inn.

I stayed at the Pride park Travelodge about 10 inutes walk from the station. Did the job for me.

I have stayed in the Hallmark Hotel, which I think was the Midland Hotel. It was very handy for the railway station.

Ditto this. I was last in Derby for a funeral, and while I wasn't too price-sensitive as it was a short-notice journey, it was conveniently close to the station. (Check a map beforehand so you know what direction to go after you head out the back-door of the station.) There were some food vending machines in the lobby downstairs, but given the number of eateries to choose from in Pride Park I didn't pay much attention to them.
