Hornby XC HST

I am considering purchasing a new Hornby HST in XC livery. How do the running of these compare with the old Lima HST (of which I have two) or even against the original Ringfield Motor in the Hornby HST.
This would be my first Hornby Purchase for many years - is the £200 for the Power Cars and four Mark 3's worth it?

Well, they have head and tail lights (which none of the previous ones did) they have a dcc decoder socket (which neither the old Hornby nor the Lima HST have), they have a centrally mounted motor for all wheel drive (which is far superior to what the previous models have) and they are better detailed than what came before.

But, and I think it is a big but, I refused to pay £130 for a set at the end of 2008 (yes that is a near 50% increase in price in just over 3 years!) because I thought it was expensive.

They look interesting but for the love of God I hope they come with like 10 carriages at that price. If they have lights and tiny amenities which can barely be seen, we're leaning towards an okay price.

Oh, I forgot to mention they have rotating fans (that you'll never see rotate) and opening cab doors (that you'll never need to open).
